Natural Bacchus



In recent years the Bacchus grape has made a name for itself in the English wine world, winning best affordable, single varietal white wine in the world at the Decanter Awards 2017. We planted 1000 vines at Woodchurch vineyard in 2016 and this new release comes from our first harvest in 2019.

Woodchurch Bacchus 2019 has been made following a fully natural wine-making philosophy. Fermentation occurs via wild yeasts in concrete tanks followed by gentle aging in oak barrels. There is zero filtration and zero fining which retains all the natural flavours in the wine.

This wine is full of character - Hazy, with elderflower and hedgerow aromas with fresh tangy grapefruits and tropical fruit flavours on the palate. 

This first vintage is very exclusive with only 750 bottles produced.
