In recent years the Bacchus grape has made a name for itself in the English wine world, winning best affordable, single varietal white wine in the world at the Decanter awards 2017. We decided to plant 1000 vines at Woodchurch vineyard in 2016 and 2019 was our first harvest.
Woodchurch Bacchus 2019 has been made at Tillingham winery. following in their natural wine-making philosophy using wild yeasts, zero filtration, zero fining and minimal sulphur added at bottling.
This wine is full of character, on the nose there is elderflower and hedgerow aromas, on the palate fresh tangy grapefruits and tropical fruit.
This first vintage is very exclusive with only 700 bottles produced.
