Cold snap! 07, Mar 2018

Snowy English Vineyard - Woodchurch, Kent

There were some beautiful scenes across the UK, Kent and the vineyard in early March. Temperatures reached a low of -6 °C here at Woodchurch.

The vines are dormant so the cold weather doesn't harm them, it would need to be about 5-10 degrees colder to do any damage.

The cold weather at this time of year is hopefully a good sign for the coming vintage and some suggest it can delay budburst, which means we won't get caught out by a late frost like last year.
