Try the first still Rosé from Woodchurch 18, Jun 2020
Woodchurch vineyard have released their first ever still Rosé wine from the 2019 vintage.
The last two years have seen Woodchurch add white and red still wines to their existing portfolio of award winning sparkling wines and now they are excited to announce their latest wine – a light and delicate Rosé perfect for Summer drinking.
Co-founder Donna Barbour explains: “We make our rosé from a single block of Burgundy clones in the vineyard. In 2019 the weather conditions allowed us to leave these Pinot Noir grapes on the vine into late October which meant the sugar and acid levels were ideal for producing this wine. It’s salmon pink in colour and displays an abundance of fresh raspberry, strawberries and cream character on the nose. On the palate the strawberries and cream come through with a vibrant, dry and refreshing acidity that leads to a balanced and long lived finish.”
Only 1100 bottles were produced - making this a very special wine indeed.
Available online or direct from the vineyard shop which is now open Saturday and Sunday 11am - 5pm. At the vineyard you can purchase wine at cellar door prices or take a walk through the vines or follow our self-guided tour.
