When Graham and Donna Barbour first planted 10,000 vines on a southerly slope in the beautiful Kent countryside their vision was to produce some of the finest wine England could offer. Just over 12 years on and their dream for Woodchurch Wine Estate has been realised. Their wines have won accolades such as Kent Wine of the Year 2020, numerous Decanter and IWSC medals, along with valued recognition from Masters of Wine and industry experts including Clive Barlow, Matthew Jukes and Tom Stevenson. 

The vineyard was established on the edge of the picturesque village of Woodchurch on hills looking down over the Romney Marsh to the Channel. It’s a beautiful spot in a lovely part of Kent and there is a great emphasis placed on the estate’s sense of place. All of their wine is produced from this single vineyard estate from individual years so the wine truly reflects and represents the land from which it comes. Once the grapes our harvested the team at Woodchurch and their talented winemakers put immense effort into making wines of the highest quality.

Woodchurch pride themselves on being friendly and welcoming too. Woodchurch Wine Estate is open to visitors all year round, Thursdays through to Sundays from 11am to 5pm. Visitors are able to explore the vineyard at their leisure and enjoy a glass of wine right next to the vines that have produced it! They also provide food that perfectly matches the wines – including cheese and charcuterie boards available all through the day.

Woodchurch also offer guided tours which last about an hour and will give you an experience to remember. Graham Barbour the founder and owner will take you on a personal journey and you'll learn all about the story behind the vineyard and the wine.
